Scope in Nottingham
Our befriending service in Nottingham supports disabled people to improve their health and well-being and get involved in their community.
Who can use our service?
We support disabled adults, young people and children in Nottingham city and all surrounding areas, including Arnold, Basford, Beeston, Bilborough, Bulwell and Sherwood.
We work with all disabled children, young people and adults, including those with impairments such as autism, cerebral palsy, mental health problems, mobility problems and other conditions, sometimes known as special needs.
What do our befrienders do?
Our trained volunteer befrienders support disabled adults, children and their families in the community.
We can support you, for example
- To find out more about groups, activities and social opportunities, like sports, Scouts and Guides, drama and arts
- To develop skills and interests, such as a new sport, volunteering and crafts
- By having someone to go with you somewhere, boosting your confidence
- To achieve your goals and ambitions, like joining a sports team, making new friends or getting fit
- To become more active in the community, like going to youth groups, social clubs, gigs and concerts
The sky is the limit. If you’re not sure whether we can support you or what you can do, contact us!
