First impressions, first experiences work training

Our training course First Impressions, First Experiences helps young disabled people who live in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Hackney and surrounding East London boroughs on the road to a career.

The programme has now secured funding until 2015 and will now run for 26 weeks.

Cohort 1 - Commitment meeting and initial assessments from 17 June 2013

Modules begin week commencing 1 July 2013

Cohort 2 - Commitment meeting and initial assessments from 4 November 2013

Modules begin week commencing 18 November 2013

Cohort 3 - Commitment meeting and initial assessments from 7 April 2014

Modules begin week commencing 21 April 2014

Cohort 4 - Commitment meeting and initial assessments from 18 August 2014

Modules begin week commencing 1 September 2014

Personal development opportunities for young disabled people

The 26-week programme for disabled 16- to 24-year-olds supports them in developing important employability skills, gaining valuable work experience and building their confidence, which could lead to life-changing career decisions. Find out about the programme's benefits for young disabled people.

One-to-one and group support will be available from Scope Employment Advisors throughout the programme.

Mentors from the local business community will offer one-to-one advice and guidance and share their ‘real-life’ experiences during group workshops and job clubs. Find out more about benefits to companies.

Work experience placements
