We were just a normal everyday family,

We used to go out as families do,

and we went on a family holiday

and it just completely changed. Dan had his accident,

and it just felt like everything just came crashing down

I got myself really, really low

It was four years after his accident that I found Scope.

The special education teacher at the main stream school

said she'd had these leaflets given to her, did I want one?

so I rang Denise the Scope Face to Face coordinator for this area

and she said did I want to start the Face 2 Face Scope training?

So for the next 12 weeks, every Monday

I got myself up, I got Dan to school and got myself ready and presentable.

And that day was just for me, and I loved it.

And I met up with such lovely girls.

All mums of disabled children.

It was nice just to sit and actually talk to people, who could say to you

"Well, I understand".

It was whilst doing my training with Face 2 Face that I actually got my first part time job back into work.

I know I would not have done that if I had not attended the Scope meetings.

I was in a very very lonely dark place,

and I think if I hadn't attended the Scope meetings IaEuro(tm)d probably still been there.

ItaEuro(tm)s a brilliant service, it's fantastic.
