Community Project Cambodia FAQs

How much do I have to raise?

There is a non-refundable registration fee of £199 and a minimum sponsorship of £3,200. £2,000 is due 10 weeks before the event and the remaining £1,200 is due five weeks before the event. Once you have signed up for a Scope event, we will send you a comprehensive sponsor pack and Scope’s experienced fundraising staff will be there to support you every step of the way. You can choose to fundraise the full amount, pay it yourself or do a bit of both.

Why would people want to sponsor me to take part in a Scope Challenge?

By taking part in a Scope challenge you are dedicating your spare time to fundraising the minimum sponsorship, which is a challenge in itself and you are undertaking a difficult and intense physical challenge. If Scope didn’t have people like you raising money for us then we wouldn’t be able to support as many disabled people as we currently do.

Do I get a chance to meet other people before we go?
We organise an Information Day a few months ahead of each trip. This is a really good opportunity to talk about fundraising, meet other Scope participants and hear more about the event itself from the tour operator. You can also join the Facebook group for your event and start getting to know people this way.

What's the average age of people on the events?
We have participants of all ages from 18 - 70. The majority will be between 25 and 55.

How much training will I need?

A good level of fitness is advisable for the two day trek and the project work.

Do I need a visa?

Yes, British citizens will need a visa to enter Cambodia which can be obtained from the Cambodian Embassy. Participants must have a machine readable passport to enter Cambodia with at least six months validity from the date of return to the UK.

Can I stay on?

Yes, we will put you in touch with our tour operator, Action Challenge. To extend the length of your stay you must get in touch with them as soon as possible. Please note that places may be limited so extensions are done on a first come, first served basis. There will be a surcharge for the flight as you will no longer come under the group booking.
