Community Project Cambodia terms and conditions

These are the Terms and Conditions of Scope. The event is organised by Action Challenge (the “Tour Operator”), their Terms and Conditions will be provided after registration. It is a requirement that all participants comply with both Scope and the Tour Operator’s Terms and Conditions

1. To take place in this event you should be 18 or over on the date of departure.

2. All participants take part in the event at their own risk.

3. Your passport must have at least six month’s validity from the date you return to the UK. You are responsible for ensuring that you have a valid passport and an appropriate visa for the event. Passport control and authorities will reserve the right to refuse entry. If you are refused entry or exit to or from any of the countries, any additional costs incurred are your responsibility.

4. You must not suffer from alcohol or drug dependency. You must not have any criminal convictions. No illegal substances may be carried or consumed by participants in this event.

5. For this event we require a non- refundable registration fee as stated in the event brochure, which must be enclosed with the Registration Form.  The registration fee does not count towards your minimum sponsorship target.

6. By registering on this event you are pledging to raise the minimum sponsorship stated in the event brochure. The first installment must be received by Scope ten weeks prior to departure and the second installment five weeks prior to departure.

7. The registration fee and all sponsorship money should be made payable to Scope.

8. If you are unable to meet the minimum sponsorship, you may choose to make up the balance yourself or you may forfeit your place.

9. You understand that a part of the funds raised by you are to be used towards the tour costs. You must inform all your prospective sponsors that part of your sponsorship money will go towards the tour costs.

10. If the Tour Operator cancels your travel arrangements, any refund applicable will be paid to you via Scope in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Tour Operator.

11. If you cancel your participation in the event at any time, your registration fee will not be refunded. If your cancellation occurs within 10 weeks of the departure date, then the costs incurred will be deducted from the sponsorship money prior to any refund which will be made on a pro-rata basis. Please ensure you inform your sponsors that if they wish to be refunded, they must apply in writing to Scope, otherwise the funds will be used by Scope for charitable purposes.

12. You understand and accept that itineraries, schedules and accommodation may change and that other alterations may occur which are beyond the control of the Tour Operator or Scope. You understand that Scope may have to cancel your booking if a minimum number of participants do not book into the event.

13. You agree to raise all money using legal methods and complying with the advice given in the fund raising packs.

14. You should be reasonably fit and enjoy sufficient good health to participate in a Scope challenge event. For health and safety reasons the tour operator, ground agents and/or medical staff reserve the right to stop any person from participating.

15. You are responsible for ensuring you are covered with an adequate travel insurance suited for the type of activities that will be carried out during the event.

16. Scope shall not be liable for any injury, illness or death of any person or persons nor for loss or damage to any property nor for any direct for any indirect or consequential loss however arising. The above does not exclude or restrict Scope’s liability for injury, illness or death arising as a result of any negligence or omission of Scope or its employees acting in the course of their employment.

17. If you do anything to void your insurance, including not declaring a pre-existing medial condition, you are fully responsible for paying any and all associated costs including travel and accommodation to and from the departure/arrival point in the UK.

18. I give permission to use any photographs/ videos taken of me to raise awareness and/or money for Scope’s work with disabled people.

19. I consent to Scope passing my details to the Tour Operator for this event.
