I have a will but need more information about legacies

legacy photo adult and childIf you already have a will, you can add a gift to Scope. It's important to have it done professionally by your solicitor, bank or other advisor. You may find it most convenient to include it with other changes you want to make when next updating or revising your will. Your solicitor or other advisor will usually incorporate the changes in a new will, which you will need to sign in the presence of witnesses.

There are three ways in which you can leave your gift to Scope:

A residuary gift

After providing for friends and family, many of our supporters decide to leave the residue of their estate, or a percentage of the residue, to Scope. This is a particularly popular way to leave a gift to charity as the gift increases in line with inflation.

A cash gift

A cash gift is a fixed amount of money. It is important to remember that cash gifts do decrease in value over time and therefore may need to be reviewed periodically.

A gift in kind

A gift in kind is an item you decide to leave to Scope and could be property, shares, a piece of jewellery, furniture and so on.

If you would like to request our free legacy leaflet explaining how a gift in your will could help Scope contact us.
