What is Payroll Giving?

It's your chance to help Scope to secure a brighter future for disabled children and adults by regularly donating money from your salary. And because it's tax-free your gift will go further.

The Government gives the charity the tax that it would otherwise have kept. In other words it lets you give even more at no extra cost to you. The table below illustrates this tax-effective way of giving.

Donation to ScopeCost to you if you are a Standard Rate Tax PayerCost to you if you are a Higher Rate Tax Payer
£5.00£4.00£3.00
£10.00£8.00£6.00

For example: if you pay tax at the standard rate and would like to give £5 per month to Scope, you will only pay £4 from your monthly salary. The taxman will add £1 so the total amount received by Scope is £5.

Some employers will also match your gift. This means that Scope will receive double the amount of your donation without you having to do anything.
