What do confidence and self-esteem mean? They can be quite tricky ideas to understand.
Confidence means believing that you can achieve something without worrying too much about not succeeding or what other people might think of you.
Self-esteem is what you feel about yourself and how worthwhile you think you are. Thoughts like “I’m not worth bothering about” or at the other end “I’m great at this” will give you an idea of what self-esteem means. Self-esteem can also be emotions like being really proud of something or feeling bad because of something someone has said to you.
