Flower arranging course at Thorngrove Garden Centre
Thorngrove Garden Centre in Gillingham, Dorset is hosting a flower arranging course of eight workshops with our experienced tutor, Carole Wiles to raise funds for Scope's work with disabled people.
Learn how to make the most out of Spring flowers. Suitable for beginners or improvers.
Dates: between 2 - 4pm on Wednesdays 21 March to 16 May (excluding 2 May)
Venue: Thorngrove training room
Cost: £7 per session (£50 for the course of eight sessions)

Meldreth 2012 Olympic Music Day
From 10am on Manor Lawn at Meldreth Manor School, we will be creating our own Olympic event.
The show features all of the pupils and staff of Meldreth Manor School together with 30 children from the nearby Meldreth Primary School. This collaboration is now a much anticipated annual event, having tackled Alice in Wonderland and Dr Who in recent years.

Hanging basket workshops at Thorngrove garden centre
Scope's Thorngrove garden centre in Gillingham, Dorset returns with its very popular hanging basket workshops, led by Chris Francis!
After a brief demonstration, you are given free run of our greenhouses to select from our wide range of glorious basket plants. Chris and our staff remain on hand to guide you in putting your creation together. You can then leave your basket to develop in our greenhouse until it’s time to hang it out.
Easter coffee morning and raffle at Thorngrove garden centre
Come along for a drink and hot cross bun in aid of Scope's Thorngrove garden centre!
Our current project is a carpentry workshop where disabled people can learn how to make wooden garden items such as bird-boxes. All funds raised from the sale of refreshments and raffle tickets will go towards the purchase of carpentry tools. We will be happy to show you current progress in the project. Everyone welcome!

Garden Design Workshops at Thorngrove garden centre
With medals for show gardens at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show and awards received for landscape displays at RHS Chelsea Show, Chris Allen has achieved considerable success with his garden design skills and has over 30 years experience.
Car boot sale at Thorngrove garden centre
Scope's Thorngrove garden centre in Gillingham, Dorset has a car boot sale every third Sunday of the month throughout the spring and summer, weather permitting, to raise money for its work with disabled people.
Sellers set up from 9am, buyers from 10am to 1pm.
Dates: Sunday 17 June, 15 July, 19 August, 16 September
Venue: Thorngrove car park
Cost: £5 per car, £10 per van.
January 20th
Bonsai talk and demonstration
Back by popular demand, Geoff from the Blackmore Vale Bonsai Society will be showing how to turn a tree into a dwarf bonsai plant at our Thorngrove Garden Centre on Sunday 15 April between 1.00-3.30pm (please note change of date and time).
He will bring along the tree he demonstrated with last year to show the progress after one season, plus a few mature bonsai from the group.

Cost: £2 including refreshments
