Acas (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) aims to improve organisations and working life through better employment relations. It helps with employment relations by supplying up-to-date information, independent advice and high-quality training, and working with employers and employees to solve problems and improve performance.
Acas has over 30 years' experience of working with people in organisations of every size and type. There are around 700 staff, based in the London head office and 11 main regional offices across England, Scotland and Wales.
Acas is an active member of Scope's Diversity Works Board and is continuously working with Scope towards furthering disability equality. Scope has provided Acas' Management Team with Disability Champions and Advisors with Disability Equality Training and training in the Disability Equality Duty. After receiving iDET training, Acas now plans to roll this out throughout the whole organisation.
Scope is working with Acas to establish an Involvement Forum comprised of six disabled people to support Acas to meet the needs of disabled people and to meet their requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act and Disability Equality Duty.
