The Capital One Group is a leading credit card issuer in the UK and United States. It has more than $144 billion in managed loans and approximately 50 million world-wide customers, serviced by approximately 32,000 employees. In 1996 Capital One launched its first overseas operation in the UK. The UK bank currently offers Visa and MasterCard credit cards to UK customers. The Bank has been presented with numerous industry awards for its products and services as well as being praised for its constant work within the communities in which it operates.
Capital One was a founding member of Scope's Diversity Works Board. This involvement led Capital One to provide placement opportunities for disabled graduates in Scope's Leadership Recruitment scheme, which reinforced Scope and Capital One's shared values of creating opportunity and nurturing talent
However, this was only the beginning of Capital One's partnership with Scope. Recently Capital One has provided venues for Leadership Recruitment Assessment Centres and Speed Placement events. Their staff also participated in a variety of fundraising events for Scope. Thirty Capital One employees ran the 2008 London Marathon, raising £45,000 in sponsorship for Scope.
