The Link Up Club at Chester Skills Development Centre (SDC)

The Link Up Club is a group formed by service users that aims to organise, and support its members on social activities and holidays. Its aim is to provide quality events covering a wide spectrum of interests, to enhance members' lifestyles and to promote well-being.

The group was formed in 1995, and in 2002 secured funding from the National Lottery to set up an office at the SDC.

Any disabled person can join Link Up. The fee is £5 a year.

Other services

In addition to providing assistance with social and leisure events, Link Up provides members with information, research and educational opportunities, help with benefits, advocacy and support to access services as appropriate.

The club has established its own website that features further information on its activities and includes a penpal section to facilitate communication across the Internet. The website is at: www.linkupclub.org
