Plymouth Community Resource Service

With a Service User Group (SUG) involved in all aspects of day-to-day operation, Plymouth Community Resource Service provides opportunities designed to meet the changing needs of disabled people. All training can be geared to obtaining a nationally recognised qualification. As well as a sense of confidence, positive self-image and self-motivation, we offer:

Work-related opportunities
People are encouraged to identify and develop competencies with a view to gaining work experience placements or employment where appropriate. Work sampling activities are available (for example, light assembly work, reception, catering and IT).

Scope service user

Information Technology (IT)
Computer access training can be undertaken in one or more of the following: recreation, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, creative design/publishing, business development, Internet training.

Supportive living
Skills include: mobility, accessing information and advice, budgeting, domestic skills, literacy and numeracy, communication (Makaton).

Creative arts
A huge range of opportunities is on offer to discover your hidden talents including screen-printing, slip casting and mosaics.

Community Skills Project (CSP)
This one-to-one enabling service offers support to disabled people wanting to access work and leisure opportunities around Plymouth.
