Drummonds is a residential care home for 41 disabled adults and has an excellent reputation for the quality of support provided. The building is fully accessible and is registered for 41 disabled people with complex support needs and/or learning difficulties.
We want to raise expectations when it comes to disability and we want everything we do to reflect our ambitions. In October 2013, we made a proposal to close Drummonds as part of our work to change 11 of our 35 residential care homes.
Between January and March 2016 we explored the possiblity of transferring Drummonds to an alternative provider. We also ran a consultation in May and June 2016 to make sure that everyone connected to Drumonds was able to contribute and a final decision was made in June 2016 to transfer the service to an alternative provider. We are committed to supporting our staff, residents and families during this time.
