Redclyffe is a residential care home for 18 disabled adults in Harpenden. We offer a friendly and supportive service to offer people as much choice as possible within a residential care home.
We want to raise expectations when it comes to disability and we want everything we do to reflect our ambitions. In October 2013, we made a proposal to close Redclyffe as part of our work to change 11 of our 35 residential care homes.
Between January and March 2016 we explored the possiblity of transferring Redclyffe to an alternative provider, however we did not receive a suitable offer and we are now continuing with the proposal to close Redclyffe.
We ran consultations between May and June 2016 and made sure that everyone connected to Redclyffe was fully able to contribute. Everyone had a chance to share their views on the proposal to close before making the final decision.
We are committed to supporting our staff, residents and families during this time.
