Face 2 Face offers parents of disabled children one-to-one emotional and practical support from trained volunteer befrienders, who are themselves parents of disabled children.
Many of our Face 2 Face services were started thanks to grants from large funders, which have now concluded. This means we need to look at other ways to fund Face 2 Face so that it’s support for families locally can continue.
So we are running a local appeal to try to raise £40,000 to keep the Brighton and Hove service open for the next three years. This is an exciting way for a community to get involved with a service that has such clear benefits.
Few people expect to need the support of a service like Face 2 Face, but when they do, we want to be there.
*You can hear about the difference our Face 2 Face service makes from Amanda, our Brighton and Hove Coordinator, in our new video
**Appeal news: ITV Meridian covered our appeal on the 27th May. It's not too late for you to offer your support on the appeal, there are lots of ways to do so below. Please note the following correction: The Face2Face service is funded by the Peoples Health Trust until July 2015, not the National Lottery as stated in the report.
There are lots of ways to support the appeal:
