Connecting Communities Grants

Scope is distributing the grants on behalf of the Charities Aid Foundation CAF Resilience Fund, set up to support individuals and communities hardest hit by the Covid 19 pandemic and managed by Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). It has been provided by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) as part of its Community Match Challenge and matched by the Covid 19 Support Fund created by the insurance and long-term insurance savings industry.

  • Scope will be distributing £1.5 million this year to charities and community organisations working with disabled people hardest hit by the pandemic.
  • Millions of disabled people faced loneliness and anxiety as they shielded from loved ones. Many felt forgotten by society. And many still feel excluded and isolated.
  • Scope’s Connecting Communities Grants will support initiatives that reduce isolation, promote wellbeing and encourage participation.
  • These grants will enable charities and community groups to connect with disabled people in their communities. Scope is looking to fund a diverse range of projects. This could include funding a new mentoring scheme for disabled people or improving the accessibility of your building. We are open to all ideas that will have a positive impact on the wellbeing of disabled people.

Applications closed

The Connecting Communities Grants Fund is now permanently closed.

The value of applications exceeds the funds we were given by the Charity Aid Foundation (CAF). This was a one off grant from CAF to support communities affected by COVID-19.
