Raise money online

Benefits of using JustGiving

A really easy way of raising money for Scope is to set up a JustGiving page. Using JustGiving means you can send your fundraising page link to friends and family, making it really easy for them to sponsor you. All your fundraising then goes straight to Scope without any hassle. The first step is to set up your JustGiving page.

How to make the best JustGiving page and raise the most for Scope

  1. Add pictures to your page. Fundraisers who do this raise 14% more per photo.
  2. Tell your story. People will give more if they know why you care about Scope.
  3. Pages with a fundraising target raise 46% more. So be brave and tell them your target.
  4. Update your friends with photos of you training or fundraising. Add them onto your page and re-share on social media – your friends will be impressed and will be more inclined to donate!

What your fundraising could pay for:

  • £12 could pay for one typical call to the helpline, giving people vital support and information (with a 20 minute follow up call).
  • £36 could pay for one complex call to the helpline with a follow up call typically lasting 60 minutes.
  • £112 could pay for up to 25 parents to get vital support, information and advice from Scope’s Information and Advice workers.
  • £150 could pay for the on-going emotional support and practical training of Face 2 Face befrienders through peer group support sessions.
  • £225 could pay for the training of one Face to Face befriender, who can support a parent of a disabled child, who may be struggling to cope.
  • £500 could cover the costs of an information day on a range of issues affecting disabled people and their families, providing a wealth of information to enable parents to access services they need in their local area.
  • £653 could cover the costs of reprinting 1,000 copies of our story books which support disabled children to understand more about their condition.
  • £1000 could allow us to reach 300 students through our Role Models programme, increasing awareness and understanding of disability.

The next step is to share your JustGiving page:

  1. Share your page on social media like Facebook or Twitter
  2. Write a blog to update your friends
  3. Put a link to your JustGiving page on your email signature at work
  4. Send your link to your contacts via whatsapp
  5. Snapchat your training story and link to your JustGiving page
  6. Remember – 20% of donations come in after the event so celebrate your race or fundraising event and re-share your JustGiving page.
