Great North Run

Get your Great North Run charity place with Team Scope and take on 13.1 miles for disability equality.

You will join nearly 60,000 other runners at the start line in Newcastle for the world’s largest half marathon.

The route will take you across the Tyne Bridge, through Gateshead and finish on the coastline of South Shields. With hundreds of supporters lining the streets to cheer you on, the atmosphere is something to behold. An experience you won’t forget.

Running a half marathon is a challenge and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Access for disabled participants

The Great North Run welcomes wheelchair users and assisted runners.

If you need a guide or support runner, they can join you for free. Guides or support runners who cross the finish line, will get:

• a finisher's medal
• t-shirt
• recovery bag

The difference you can make

Many disabled people are being forced to make impossible choices. Choices between running life-saving equipment or eating.

Our helpline offers free, expert advice when its needed most. But right now, demand is up and we’re getting more calls than we can answer.

1 in 3 calls go unanswered.

• £8 could fund a call to our Helpline, connecting a disabled person to a Scope trained adviser so they can get the vital support they need.
• £25 could go towards training a specialist benefits Helpline adviser, making sure the helpline team can support disabled people with complex benefits enquiries.
• £38 could fund a call back from a Helpline adviser, so a disabled person with a more complex call can get the ongoing support they need.
