Power Up and Play - terms and conditions

These terms and conditions apply to Power Up and Play. By registering in Power Up and Play, you agree to these terms.

Power Up and Play is organised by Scope and powerup.scope.org.uk is a site operated by Scope.

Scope is a registered charity (charity no. 208231) and a limited company in England and Wales (company no. 520866). Our registered address is at Here East Press Centre, 14 East Bay Lane, E15 2GW (hereinafter referred to as either “Scope”, “We” or “Our”).

General

You agree not to:

  • do anything that may damage Scope’s good name, image, goodwill, or reputation or.
  • reproduce Scope’s name or logo without Our prior permission and approval.

Eligibility

You confirm that you will be the minimum age required to take part in the event – 18 years old. If you are under 18 and want to take part, a parent or guardian, over the age of 18, must register on your behalf and is responsible for all participation and fundraising.

Every effort has been made to ensure the sign-up process for this event is accessible to all. Participants are encouraged to register online for the event, at powerup.scope.org.uk. If for any reason this process is inaccessible to you, call Scope on 020 7619 7270 to register via telephone or email your details to gaming@scope.org.uk, and a member of Scope’s Events team will assist you in signing up.

There is no entry fee for the event, but we encourage all participants to fundraise for Scope.

Fundraising

You will use your best endeavours to fundraise for Scope in connection with your participation in the Power Up and Play.

You agree to raise all money using legal methods, complying with the Fundraising Regulators Code of Fundraising Practice.

All funds raised for Scope through the Event will be made payable to Scope.

Any donations made to Scope are non-refundable unless your donors contact GivePenny or Scope directly for a refund.

All monies raised offline, in connection with the Event are held by you on trust for Scope. You have a legal responsibility to ensure that all sponsorships received by you in connection with the event are paid to Scope. We ask that you do this as soon as possible after receiving the monies or completing the Event. Please contact gaming@scope.org.uk for details on how to pay in any offline funds.

Participants are eligible for fundraising rewards after reaching the publicised fundraising milestones. Each milestone is unlocked only when the corresponding amount has been raised, excluding Gift Aid. We will use the address you have provided to post the rewards that you qualify for to you. We aim for all rewards to be received by the end of November 2021.

Data

By providing your information when you register for the Event, you are agreeing for Scope to:

  • Use your information for the purposes of administration and organisation.
  • Contact you to discuss fundraising activity and essential Event information.
  • Send you other communications about our work, only where you have opted in.

All personal data held by us will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and Scope’s privacy policy.

Liability

You participate in fundraising and the Event entirely at your own risk and, so far as permitted by law, Scope shall not be liable in connection with your fundraising activities or your participation in the Event.

Scope shall in any event not be liable for any consequential, indirect or special losses and the total liability of Scope to you is capped at the total amount that you fundraise in aid of the Event.
