Key information

AWE is looking for individuals to join their Facilities Management team, who work every day to maintain the safety, security, and wellbeing of both their buildings and the teams who work in them. This team plays a key role in delivering AWE’s mission and ensuring compliance with government regulations.

As a Facilities Management Apprentice at AWE, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted aspects of workplace management, such as managing welfare concerns, undertaking risk-based inspections, supporting emergency training exercises, and managing and authorising new works requests. Other aspects of the role include working with project teams, reviewing and approving safe systems of work packs for breakdowns and maintenance, liaising with and supporting residential groups, and networking with customers.

About the role

This role may appeal to you if you enjoy working within a Facilities Management office while also being out and about across facilities — interacting with residents and being hands-on with changes within the workplace.

In addition, AWE apprentices have the opportunity for personal development through activities such as team-building challenges, organisational awareness presentations, health and safety workshops, and charity projects.

Requirements

  • 5 GCSE’s at grade 4/C or above including Maths and English
  • Applicants must be aged 18 or over, as of 31 August 2026 due to security clearance requirements
