Job description 

Working closely with the Executive Director of People and Head of HR to continue to develop and embed the strategic approach to colleagues across Scope. The role will be instrumental in driving the People strategy and business partnering with the Executive Leaders.

To drive through project delivery improvements to our employee experience from pre-selection through to moving on.

This role supports the Senior Leadership in a trusted advisor role, being a critical friend and challenging in a positive supportive manner. It also deputises for the Head of HR.

Main responsibilities

  • Delivers through Senior Leadership group the directorate people plans
  • Acts as trusted advisor and first point of contact for managers and leaders accessing the HR Team.
  • Coaches and manages HR Advisor to support designated business area.
  • Works with specialist experts (such as the Learning and Talent Acquisition team) to deliver an effective approach to leadership capability.
  • Develops and delivers a coherent approach to employee experience through the employee lifecycle, bringing together through cross functional working the expertise required to embed.
  • Provides business insight to People directorate to shape thinking when developing and reviewing policies and approach (such as Retail bonus in Reward/ impact of changes to family friendly policies).
  • Collaborate with Business Leaders to deliver change and transformation programs.
  • To attract and align internal competency to meet the needs of the business, responsible for ensuring organisational design principles are adhered to.
  • Provides high level guidance on Employee Relations to ELT and Senior Leaders, accessing internal and external support as required.
  • Acts as an Ambassador for Scope, engaging with relevant external networking events, sharing our work and approach.
  • Provides project support where required. Including leading on wellbeing across Scope.

Person Specification

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Knowledge of latest HR thinking and evidence as to how this is kept up to date.
  •  Experience of a significant range of HR disciplines (such as Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Reward).
  • Experience of supporting managers through change and an understanding of change management approaches.
  • Experience of managing and delivering projects from inception through to evaluation.
  • Significant experience of influencing, winning hearts and minds, to ensure effective people and business solutions and resolve conflict where necessary.
  • To have a leading role in well being projects.

Qualifications

  • MCIPD, or qualified by experience
