Job Description

Role purpose:

To work cross-organisationally to measure our social impact, influence improvement of our practices and understand the progress we are making towards increasing everyday equality for disabled people.

Main responsibilities and accountabilities:

Analyse the impact of Scope’s work and progress towards our goals and the Everyday Equality strategy
Working with the evidence and insight team, analyse national datasets to understand how the picture is changing for disabled people across the UK, enabling us to better understand the context we are working in and trends over time
Support with drafting and content of regular impact reports in close collaboration with teams across the organisation
Maintain plans and databases which capture goals, business plans, impact measures and impact data
Support on strategy and planning, with a focus on Scope’s campaigns, products and services
Proactively identify gaps in our evidence base and work with the wider Strategy, Evidence and Insight team to fill them.

Person Specification:

Knowledge and experience

Essential

Understanding of research methodologies
Experience of working to measure impact in a charity or other social change context
Cross-team working
A thorough understanding of theory of change
Good knowledge of statistics
Knowledge and understanding of participatory evaluation approaches.

Qualifications (if applicable)

A research based qualification, or equivalent related experience

Skills and competencies

Essential
Ability to quickly assimilate information and work flexibly across a range of thematic areas and types of work.
Excellent analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative
Able to balance own work priorities (with supervision)
Can build strong relationships and work independently on analysis and research projects
Experience leading collection of data, report writing, and presenting findings
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to inspire commitment to impact measurement and evaluation across an organisation and be an ambassador for impact
Can convey complex ideas and data in engaging ways to senior staff and frontline workers alike
Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet reporting requirements.

Desirable
Understanding of co-production as an approach to working
Previous experience of contributing to organisation annual and/or service impact reporting
Confidence to support delivery of or/or lead informative training sessions to colleagues
