Job description
Overall purpose of Role:
This role is central to the delivery of campaigns planning and activity and will help Scope achieve a step-change in our externally facing campaigns work to deliver everyday equality for disabled people. This will involve developing meaningful online and offline campaigns activity for Scope’s social change campaigns in a variety of areas affecting disabled people.
As part of a well-established policy and campaigns team, we need an enthusiastic campaigner to help us translate our influencing work into engaging public-facing campaigns which bring supporters on this journey with us, with a particular focus on developing our digital campaigning programme of activity.
Main responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Lead on digital campaigning and online campaigner and supporter journeys across Scope to engage and retain campaigners.
- Develop engaging and accessible online actions for campaigners to assist our social-change objectives, and stay abreast of trends in digital campaigning, identifying new methods for engagement.
- Develop a range of engaging online and offline campaigning materials and resources
- Optimise Scope’s use of key digital campaigning software and content management systems, such as Engaging Networks, MailChimp and Raiser’s Edge
- Write excellent campaign messaging, bringing creativity to present complex ideas in an engaging way
- Develop excellent relationships with Scope colleagues, fully harnessing Scope’s wider networks, whilst ensuring our campaigns adhere to internal processes and legal requirements
- Develop plans to translate online journeys offline, working with wider Scope stakeholders, such as our retail network
- Deliver online campaigns evaluation work, to ensure our campaigns activity is continually learning and improving

Person specification
Essential
- Experience of delivering social-change campaigning activity which achieve change
- Good political judgement
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to persuade and adapt to different audiences
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Knowledge and understanding of online and offline campaigning techniques
- Experience and understanding of supporter journeys and building digital engagement
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative engagement tactics and involve disabled people in campaigning
- Proactive in approach to work and ability to respond positively to change
Desirable
- Experience of using campaigns software such as Engaging Networks, email software, and an understanding of digital impact metrics
- Experience of using databases such as Raiser’s Edge
- Understanding a charity's role in social change
- Experience of implementing activity from a campaigns strategy
- Understanding of the social model of disability
