Job description

Role purpose:

The Retail New Business Manager is accountable for developing and driving forward a new retail partnerships strategy.

To identify and create a pipeline of new retail corporate support which will generate stock for Scope to sell in our shops and online.

The role will work alongside the Retail Partnerships Lead to support the growth of our retail partnerships, working with teams to optimise the partnership value and provide outstanding support to the partnership itself.

 

Main responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Create a robust engagement strategy for national and local prospects.
  • Operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, ambitious and focussed team, delivering to a financial budget and target
  • Work collaboratively with Scope’s Marketing, Communications and Corporate Partnerships teams to develop on-brand collateral to engage potential new retail partners.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including Scope’s Trustees and Executive Leadership Team to develop a pipeline of new support.
  • Lead on developing and delivering high quality pitches to prospects.
  • Develop a seamless process to hand over all confirmed new partners to Scope’s Retail Partnerships Lead to manage the account.
  • Drive delivery of the annual retail corporate donations target.
  • Provide regular reporting, commentary and context, overseeing and managing risk
  • Set KPIs together with the Head of Customer Proposition, measuring performance, identifying risk and focusing prioritisation
  • Comply with Scope’s policy and procedures, and external compliance such as GDPR, complaints, and best fundraising practice.

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience of working in a new business role and / or of building and securing new partnerships.
  • Track record of delivering against targets.
  • Demonstrable resilience and problem-solving experience
  • Demonstrable experience of engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience of establishing governance and matrix structures, leading and working within these effectively
  • Resilience – being determined to see things through and find ways around problems.
 

Desirable

  • Disabled or lived experience of disability.
  • Understanding of the social model of disability
  • Experience of working in the third sector.
  • Experience of charity retail
