We're recruiting two Senior Policy Advisors to join Scope’s Policy and Research team and lead on two of our flagship policy areas: employment and public transport.

About Scope

We’re Scope, the disability equality charity. We won't stop until we achieve a society where all disabled people enjoy equality and fairness.

About the roles

We're recruiting two Senior Policy Advisors to join Scope’s Policy and Research team and lead on two of our flagship policy areas: employment and public transport.
For each of these roles, we are looking for a policy professional with substantial experience of developing innovative and impactful policy ideas and influencing strategies that lead to social change.
You’ll need to have excellent analytical skills and sharp political judgement to help Scope capitalise on opportunities to influence government, business, and shift attitudes.  Using effective communication skills, you will have the ability to build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to help drive forward Scope’s policy influencing and campaigns.

Financial security

Employment is a big area of for us. We want to tackle the barriers disabled people face to entering, staying and progressing in work through our campaigns, our corporate partnerships, and our own service offer to disabled people.
The Senior Policy Advisor will shape and lead Scope’s policy work on employment. You will be responsible for leading key projects on areas such as welfare, statutory sick pay and employer reporting on disability.

Independent living

This is an exciting time to join Scope’s Independent Living team. Our Everyday Equality strategy outlines our ambition for disabled people over the next four years, and a core theme of our work is to support disabled people to lead independent, confident and connected lives.
Integral to this ambition is for disabled people to have access to an inclusive transport system, one which is physically accessible, straightforward to use, and where disabled people can travel without negative attitudes from staff and passengers.
This is a new area of work for Scope and we’re looking for a Senior Policy Advisor to lead on the development and delivery of this key issue for disabled people.
