He originally set out to walk 0.26 miles, but he was benefitting so much physically and emotionally from walking, the challenge was extended to 2.6 miles – a tenth of a marathon – over 10 days. Then he wanted to keep going until his 22nd birthday – reaching 11.2 miles in total! Pretty amazing for someone who is blind with cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy.
Over £20,000!
We are. So proud. And the whole community is too. They lined the streets to support him, and he pulled everyone together over the difficult time of lockdown. We couldn’t be more proud!
Inspired by Gabe’s endeavours? Large public events like marathons won’t be happening for some time, but there are still plenty of ways for you to challenge yourself and raise funds for Scope.
