Donating items to our shops

Turn your pre-loved into re-loved. You can donate your items to a local Scope shop, clothes bank or arrange a free home collection for your furniture or electricals. 

Everything you donate helps us campaign and provide vital advice and support for disabled people and their families. To find out more about our goals to end disability inequality read  An Equal Future is Possible.

Donations we can accept

• Men’s, women’s, and children’s fashion: clothes, shoes, and accessories.
• Homeware and soft furnishings: vases, curtains, cushions and more.
• Entertainment: games consoles, instruments, CDs, DVDs and vinyl.
• Books: all genres.
• Small electricals: kettles, TVs, lamps and so on.

Our Wakefield and Grimsby shops can also accept:

• Furniture: sofas, bedding, dining tables and chairs. Upholstered items will need fire labels attached.
• Electricals: TVs, washing machines and fridges.
• Fitness equipment.

Home collections for furniture and electricals

Our Wakefield and Grimsby shops can collect from your home for free. Please note, collections need to be within 30 miles.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer collections for clothes and small donations.

Retail Gift Aid scheme

If you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim Gift Aid on your donations. This gives us an extra 25p on every £1 we make from the sale of your donated goods. And it doesn’t cost you a penny.

When you donate goods to our shops. We will ask if you would like to Gift Aid your donations. If you say yes, we will need you to fill out a retail Gift Aid declaration form.

That’s it! We’ll do the rest.

How your donations help

Your donated items raise vital funds helping us provide practical advice and emotional support to disabled people and their families.

Each bag of donations we receive is worth around £20, that means:

• 25 bags can help support a family of a disabled child, through our Sleep Right service
• 150 bags can help us run our Kickstart or Starting Line service for a week
• 1,500 bags can help run our Sleep Right service for over 12 weeks
• 15,000 bags will pay for us to support member of our online community for 44 weeks
• 150,000 bags can help us run all our family, employment and information and advice services for a year
