Do you want to learn a new skill, join a social group or build your confidence?
We offer free, one to one befriending support for older disabled adults. We’ll introduce you to someone who will support you as a friend to achieve your goals.
Imagine what you could do with a little support from someone who has tried the things you want to do, and can offer advice or just a friendly ear.
Is it for me?
Peer befriending is for you if you’re over aged over 50 with any impairment or condition. These include dysphagia, epilepsy, mental health needs, cerebral palsy, autism, physical impairments and learning difficulties. Our volunteer befrienders may also be disabled.
You can meet up with your befriender at home or in a café or any community based activity or club – whatever suits you both. And it won’t cost you a penny.
Would you like to meet one of our befrienders? We can arrange for one of our supportive volunteers to help you organise arrangements, overcome barriers, try new experiences, make friends and achieve more confidence.
Get in touch anytime – we’ll talk about your needs and help you find someone like-minded who you’ll get on with. We aim to help you achieve your potential, have more choice and get involved with your local community.
