Local disability information

A DPO is a disabled people's organisation.

​Information and Advice is part of Improving Lives Plymouth. It provides a specialist disability service to support people with physical or sensory impairment, disability, long-term health conditions and mental health issues.

Information and Advice also works with patients and carers at Mount Gould Hospital and provides an advice service to adults and children with Cystic Fibrosis at Derriford Hospital.

There are Mental Health Support Workers who are able to meet with clients and support them in accessing the Advice Plymouth and Information and Advice services. There are drop-in services at Crossroads and the Endeavour Block in HMS Drake. There are close ties with the Memory Service at Mount Gould and with the local Alzheimer’s Society.
