This service

Orchard Manor offers a short breaks service (also known as respite).  During your stay we will work with you to identify your requirements and aspirations.  We will support you to develop new and existing skills and work towards your outcomes.

The service employs a full-time Speech and Language Therapist, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist, as well as an experienced and well qualified care team.

We can provide development opportunity packages to enable you to acquire new skills or progress those you already have.  This includes communication profiles, physical and mobility programmes, hydrotherapy and rebound assessments, equipment assessments, advice for obtaining funding of equipment and input to ensure that programmes are integrated into your daily life.

Orchard Manor is fully accessible, well-equipped and provides a range of activities. Individuals can socialise with others, enjoy trips out or simply relax.

You can benefit from our facilities including:

  • hydrotherapy pool
  • rebound therapy
  • Skills Development Centre
  • Sensory room
  • Adapted ICT suite
  • Horse-riding
  • Extensive, well maintained grounds

Is it for you?

Our residential short breaks are for disabled adults with any condition or impairment. These include dysphagia, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism, physical impairments and/or learning disabilities.

Getting started

We will talk with you to find out what’s important and what support is needed. We’ll answer any questions you might have. And together, we’ll develop a personal plan around what you want to do, focusing on what you’d like to achieve from your short break.

Your support staff

We’ll find support staff who you like and you’ll get on with.

Supporting disabled people for the past 60 years, we know just how much selecting friendly and caring staff matters. We train our staff thoroughly to provide safe and quality support.

You can pay using your direct payments, personal budget, private income or through the local authority.

Book us for an overnight, weekend stay or a longer break – we’re very flexible.
