About you
Your application
You must be at least 14 years old to volunteer with Scope. If you are under 18, you will usually need consent from a parent or guardian before you can volunteer with us, except if your personal circumstances mean that this doesn't apply to you (for example if you are a care leaver).
Under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, you must declare any unspent criminal convictions registered against you. Having a conviction will not necessarily stop you from volunteering but will need to be taken into consideration when assessing suitability.
If you wish, you can provide details of 2 people that we can contact to get a reference before you start volunteering. You may skip this question if you would like to apply without giving referee details - in this case, we will ask you for your referee details at a later date if you're successfully recruited to the role.
Contact
If you volunteer with us, or enquire about our volunteering opportunities, we will usually collect your personal contact details, emergency contact details, availability to volunteer and contact preferences. We collect and store this data for 2 years after you stop volunteering with us. If you enquire about volunteering but don’t start, we will hold your data for no longer than 6 months.
You’re in control. You can change your preferences at any time by emailing volunteering@scope.org.uk. You can also read about how we protect and use your personal information in our Privacy Policy
