Gain skills, help raise vital funds and support disabled people at a time of need.
Disabled people and their families are facing unprecedented difficulties during the pandemic. By volunteering in our shop, you'll help to ensure Scope's vital support and campaigning can continue now and in the future.
About your role
We're looking for Volunteer Donation Processors to sort donated clothing stock, steam, tag and price items and organise stock for display.
Where and when?
You will be based in our charity shop at 130 Commercial Street, Newport, Gwent, NP20 1LY.
This is a very flexible role. We’d love your help for as little as one hour a week, but if you can give five hours, even better. We're open 7 days a week, so talk to us about the days and times that suit you.
There are no skills or experience necessary. We welcome any volunteers who are interested in charity shops, passionate about disability equality, or just keen to meet people or learn something new.
Skills you’ll gain:
- Shop experience
- Customer service skills
- Team work
The support you will get:
- Relevant training and an induction into Scope
- One to one support and regular catch ups with your manager
- Pre-agreed travel expenses and lunch expenses if you volunteer all day
- We will make accessibility adjustments to the role (if you need this)
To keep our volunteers, staff and customers safe we have measures in place in store such as hand sanitising stations, till screens and one-way systems for customers. Face masks must be worn unless you are exempt.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Scope is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and well-being of children and adults at risk, whether receiving services or being staff or volunteers. We expect all trustees, staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
