£17.14 inclusive of holiday pay
Per hour

(Zero contracted hours (Monday to Sunday, including weekends, days, evenings, holidays and sleep in's))

This service has 4 adults who have Learning disabilities and mental health and very complex behaviours.

About the role

Day to Day Activities: 

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)
  • Medication administration (if required)
  • Support with preparing and cooking meals
  • Support with attending medical appointments
  • Support with social activities
  • Support with independent skills
  • Support with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry
  • Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required
  • Keeping up to date with your training

Waking Night Activities: 

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)
  • Ensuring the premises are secure and safe during the night
  • Supporting with meal times and food preparation (if required)
  • Medication administration (if required)
  • Support with independent skills
  • Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required
  • Keeping up to date with your training
  • Supporting with regular checks on the customer to ensure their safety
  • Supporting with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry

Requirements

You don’t need to have previous experience working in care or support to be successful in this role. What matters are your values, your passion and determination to make a difference in the lives of people with autism or learning disabilities.

If you think a Casual Support Worker Specialist role sounds right for you, you will need to be:

  • Able to support with customer’s evolving support needs and create personalised support plans using specialist knowledge and experience
  • Able to deliver care and support in line with co-produced plans, and establishing meaningful relationships with our customers, and their circle of support to truly understand their needs, and ensure they feel engaged, involved, and fulfilled
  • Able to work with customers who present behaviours of concern that require intensive support planning and risk management to ensure the safety of the customer and others
  • Able to take the lead on monitoring and evaluating the health and behaviour needs of the customers
  • Able to act as a role model and mentor to colleagues, by demonstrating excellent levels of practice and ensuring specialist care and support is tailored to the customers we support
  • Able to identify, escalate, and contribute to the management of any risks that could affect customer service or safety, or the effectiveness, efficiency and compliance of an individual's activities, to ensure that the best interests of the customers we support are always maintained
  • Need to be literate and numerate in English
  • Willingness and ability to achieve the Adult Care Worker Level 3 or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-year strong experience in Learning Disabilities, Autism & Mental Health Services
  • Able to work well as a team
