The role of eCommerce Merchandiser will lead the change, and delivery best-in-class web merchandising and experience to our customers. 
Up to £35,000
per year, depending on experience
Full time, Permanent, Hybrid
(37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday)

We are undertaking a significant transformation of the customer experience and propositions across our business units, including consumer health, pet, NHS and private online doctor. These categories include medicines, beauty, electrical, food, nutrition, accessories and more. We are evolving and improving the web experience, ranges we offer and delivery experience.  

About the role

  • Define, set up and execute best-in-class web product merchandising across our propositions and categories on the Big Commerce platform 
  • Set-up the website taxonomy and search features 
  • Identify and implement cross and upsell programmes, using sales and behavioural data
  • Working with the commercial teams to ensure all product ranges are available to our customer
  • Working with digital marketing teams to improve the landing page conversion and efficiency of marketing spend
  • Identify opportunities to improve the key ecommerce metrics i.e. add to basket, conversion, cross-sell participation, onsite search, checkout success and abandonment
  • Identify experience improvement in the customer journey throughout our sites such as content, UX and UI, features to drive sales
  • Manage and publish content updates (banners, images, copy, videos) to support promotions, events or campaigns
  • Assist the wider team to undertake Keyword, competitor, and content research

Requirements

  • Proven proficiency in maximising BigCommerce functionalities for effective merchandising
  • Web and Digital merchandising expertise in a retail environment, either in a pureplay or omnichannel
  • Commercial acumen
  • Results driven and comfortable working in a very fast paced environment
  • Experience with BigCommerce platform and content management systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Google Analytics and other tools in the Google suite
  • Pet health experience would be advantageous
  • An understanding of Adobe CS to create mock-ups and basic HTML coding and web design experience is a plus
  • Degree or equivalent ideally in marketing, commerce, digital, creative or tech
