This is an exciting opportunity to join TACT in the new role of Fostering Recruitment Officer as they grow their presence in the South of England.
£26,854
per year, increasing to £29,838 in 18 months, plus £750 per year Homeworking Allowance
Full time, Permanent, Work from Home
(35 hours per week with some evening and weekend working)
Homebased within Bournemouth, Poole, Dorset and Hampshire area

Key information

The Fostering Recruitment Officer will drive recruitment of Foster Carers across the area, innovating engagement and participation alongside the Fostering Recruitment Manager, with a varying balance of independent working and collaboration with the other members of the London and The South Team. The Fostering Recruitment Officer will have excellent people skills, thrive in a dynamic and evolving role and enjoy contributing to the TACT community across this area.

About the role

Overall Duties of the Fostering Recruitment Officer will include:

  • Working collaboratively with the team to progress enquiry management
  • Support community recruitment activity to create a consistent pipeline of carer applicants
  • Facilitating a smooth application and assessment process for potential carers
  • Undertaking essential administrative tasks relating to record keeping, creation of data for analysis, evidence for measuring objectives
  • Creatively contribute to innovation and improvement of strategies and local activities
  • Maintaining an understanding of regulations and requirements for provision of foster care services

Requirements

  • English and Maths GCSE or equivalent grade C or 5 or above, or good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience in a customer service, recruitment or sales or marketing role in a relevant setting.
  • Experience of working with and engaging a wide range of community groups and organisations.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows Applications (including Outlook, Sharepoint, Teams, Word and Excel)
  • Knowledge and understanding of foster care; including process of becoming a foster carer and the role and responsibilities of foster carers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the children’s care system; including the needs of children, the impact of trauma and the role that TACT plays in meeting the needs of those children.
  • Understanding of how equality and diversity relates to this post.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the requirements of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and promoting their welfare. Knowledge and understanding of data protection and information security.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, interpersonal curiosity, and the ability to build rapport.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and with colleagues across departments.
  • Ability to gather and analyse information and use this for providing clear recommendations and decisions.
  • Self-motivated and proactive; search for and identify opportunities and show initiative.
  • A genuine interest in recruiting foster carers and supporting TACT’s mission to improve the lives of children.
