Key information

If so, we’d love to hear from you! United Response is looking for a committed and supportive Job Coach to join our Supported Employment Team in Manchester and Trafford.

We are committed to the Mindful Employer values and are a Disability Confident employer, providing support to applicants with mental and/or physical disabilities.

About the role

You’ll work with people on their journey towards employment, providing tailored, person-centred support that helps them work as independently as possible. You will spend time in the community, meeting employers, job coaching in a range of settings, and occasionally working from our Trafford office or from home.

This is a highly rewarding role where your support genuinely changes lives.

In this role, you will:

  • Support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, neurodiversity, mental health needs, or physical disabilities into paid employment, voluntary roles, and work experience.
  • Communicate effectively and build positive, holistic relationships to understand each person’s unique goals and challenges.
  • Help individuals overcome barriers to employment and identify meaningful ways to build confidence and independence.
  • Develop connections with local employers and secure work trials, placements, and long-term job opportunities.

Requirements

You don’t need a formal background in social care — if you are patient, empathetic, a good communicator, and motivated to make a difference, we would love to hear from you. Strong IT skills, good self-management, and the ability to market individuals or services are also important. Travel across Manchester and Trafford is essential.

You will be supported by a wider specialist team offering guidance on best practice, inclusion, quality, and health and safety. A full induction will be provided, working closely with experienced colleagues.

We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, and person-centred, with a genuine passion for helping people move towards employment.
