Key information

This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Consultant to join our dynamic team. The role will primarily involve supporting project delivery within the Consultancy team, helping clients achieve their environmental and social goals.

You will collaborate across our consultancy service areas of Policy, Circular Economy, Waste Strategy and Behaviour Change; contributing to a wide range of projects to support our mission of creating a more sustainable future.

About the role

You will contribute to research and analysis to support governments with policy decision-making; use your sound communication and analytical skills to help clients understand what is driving existing behaviours, gathering insights to inform change; undertake data analysis, research and modelling to help guide local authorities towards sustainable resource management; and contribute to research and analysis to provide support to organisations on their circular journey.

You’ll need to be excellent with numbers, have good attention to detail and be confident using MS Excel. You will also be a natural communicator both in verbal delivery and written environments and understand how to adapt data for presentations to suit the needs of varying audiences.

Across all your work you will contribute to presenting project outputs in both written reports and client meetings including the communication of complex information to a range of audiences. Stakeholder engagement skills, such as supporting the facilitation of workshops and focus groups, and a good understanding of quantitative data analysis will therefore be essential.

What you will be doing

  • Project delivery work: Working on a broad range of projects, you will conduct data analysis and modelling using a high degree of academic rigour and attention to detail. You will also conduct desktop and primary research, facilitate stakeholder engagement activities and contribute to writing/developing reports, tools and other outputs as part of the work programme.
  • Business development: All members of our team are involved in our business development activities. You will contribute to the preparation of proposals and assist in identifying new business such as potential new projects or funding opportunities. With other colleagues in the team, you will also work to improve existing services and products, and to develop new ones.
  • Resources and autonomy: You will work to ensure that projects meet deadlines and are within budget. This will require you to work on multiple projects concurrently so good time management and resourcefulness will be essential.
  • Client engagement: You will liaise with clients for project delivery, attending external meetings, focus groups, workshops, presentations and industry events as required.
