About the role

Lighting Systems are responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the production lighting infrastructure and equipment (approximately 13,000 items) site wide. The team also design and install bespoke set electrics across both new and revived productions. These installations cover a wide scope, from straight forward tungsten practicals to LED systems and complex large scale set installations.

We are seeking to recruit a Lighting Systems Technician. This role will assist in the efficient day to day running of the equipment and systems of the Lighting Department, providing technical advice for additional equipment needs, productions, events and outside venues, ensuring that all activities are carried out to the highest possible standard of safety, efficiency, and quality.

Requirements

Our ideal candidates will be team players with strong communication skills, who can evidence the following:

  • An appreciation of why electrical safety is important and how to keep yourself and others safe and the willingness to understand more.
  • An understanding of current lighting equipment and systems and the implications of new product developments, particularly with regards to sustainability.
  • Ability to assess production needs for lighting requirements and identify and recommend any developments to existing systems or equipment.
  • Strong awareness of and adherence to Health and Safety policy and best practice
  • The ability to work unsupervised and show initiative in dealing with day-to-day problems.
