Key information
You’ll be working full time 40 hours a week at Cygnet Broughton House, helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care.
Broughton House is a 29 bed specialist residential service for adults with severe learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.
About the role
Your day to day:
- Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service
- Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work
- Maintain plant, services and vehicles in working order
- Comply with safe working practices and report faulty equipment and potential hazards
- Travel to other sites and on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
- Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices and fire emergency lights
Requirements
You are:
- Experienced in all types of painting and decorating in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Willing to travel and hold a full valid driving licence
- Able to communicate at all levels and record detailed, accurate maintenance information
- Skilled at DIY and general maintenance
- Preferably Level 2 Diploma qualified in Painting and Decorating or Maintenance
- Friendly, conscientious and an excellent team member with a positive attitude
