The Senior Delivery Project Manager will be accountable for the management and delivery of several multi-million-pound projects as part of the TfW Station Improvements Programme across the Wales and Borders and CVL network.

Key information

 Projects will be focused on station infrastructure.   

This is a varied role where the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of Infrastructure projects as required.  The Senior Delivery Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered in accordance with the organisation’s governance, project lifecycle, budget and timescales.

About the role

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Line management and development of Delivery Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Project Support Officer. 
  • Influencing, motivating and manage project teams across the organisation, including working with support functions and Business Partners.   
  • Plan and drive completion of all project deliverables including the business case, safety validation, regulatory requirements, project roadmap, budget, implementation, and handover into business as usual.
  • Ensure that the projects are delivered within agreed parameters (scope/specification, safety, timescale, cost and quality). Represent the best interest of TfW in respect of the evaluation, development and planning for the impact of the Stations Improvement Programme upon TfW business.
  • Ensure all design and delivery of projects meet operational requirements and is customer focussed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of successfully developing and delivering projects of significant value and complexity in a railway environment. Ideally, a background of depot and rolling stock integration projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of project management principles.
  • Budgeting and commercial contract management
  • Experience in leading and developing a team to high performance
  • Knowledge of relevant Health, Safety, Environmental and Equalities Act legislation.

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak and write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
