Key information

The purpose of the job is to provide a professional, efficient and high quality service to customers of Your Trust.  This includes delivering swimming lessons, in line with STA Guidance, to a range of learners from babies to adults as part of the Your Trust Swim Academy.

About the role

Our work as a charity is wide-ranging covering culture, health, physical activity, sport, wellness and everything in between. We work with all ages and all backgrounds, in and outside of our venues and throughout the community.

Our programmes tackle holiday hunger in young people, exercise and reduced isolation for older people, rehabilitative programmes for those with long term illness, creative and outdoor education programmes for schools, artist exhibitions, commissions, live productions, outdoor festivals, an annual pantomime and much more.

Requirements

  • Qualified to Level 2 STA Swimming Teachers Award or Certificate or Swim England Qualification Level 2 Teaching Swimming - however for the right candidate full training and qualification will be provided 
  • Experience of teaching swimming at a variety of levels and with all ages
  • Hold National Rescue Test for Swimming Teachers (NRASTC) or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
  • Friendly, outgoing person who has excellent communication skills with both children and adults
  • Ability to follow laid down procedures, work under pressure and without constant supervision
  • Ability to work within a team with common objectives.
  • Excellent communication; both oral and written and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
