£27,000
per year, increasing to £28,000 in the second year.
Full time, Temporary, Hybrid

Key information

The Transport Planning Graduate will contribute to the development and delivery of TfW’s multimodal integration agenda and will assist in projects and tasks that support the Welsh Government, local authorities and other partners in making public transport a key element of an integrated transport system. 

This role offers hybrid working from Pontypridd / Wrexham office and from home, flexible working hours with occasional travel to site or other office locations as required. 

22 month fixed term contract.

About the role

  • You’ll take part in a bespoke TfW Leadership Programme.
  • You’ll contribute towards and manage various projects, at times simultaneously.
  • You’ll work across different areas in the Transport Planning and Development Directorate.
  • You’ll take part in the Early Talent Development Programme by attending regular workshops and learning sessions for personal development.
  • You’ll participate in a group project where you will collaborate to deliver tangible outcomes on a real business project over a 6 month period.
  • You’ll take part in the Early Talent Mentoring Scheme.

Requirements

  • A post graduate degree (Masters) in a relevant area such as Transport and Planning, Transport Planning and Engineering, Urban Transport.  
  • The ability to understand, analyse and interpret data to support decision making and recommendations.
  • The ability to manage time and priorities effectively, whilst balancing workload and academic study to achieve key objectives and deliverables.
  • An understanding of the ways in which different travel modes can support the aims to reduce carbon emissions and reduce the need to travel by car. 
  • Have an interest or passion in transport / transport planning and sustainability.
