We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our Access to Education Team, supporting children and young people who are unable to attend school due to medical needs, mental health difficulties or other exceptional circumstances. 

Delivering tailored educational support, promoting engagement and wellbeing and helping pupils reintegrate into education will be the main focus.

This is a full-time, term-time only role based at Braccan Walk Youth Centre in Bracknell. You will be expected to attend the office five days per week, subject to the classroom timetable.

• Plan, prepare and deliver tailored tuition, including 1 to 1, remote and blended learning support.
• Assess pupils’ starting points, monitor progress, maintain records and report on attendance, engagement and wellbeing.
• Liaise with schools, families, health professionals and partner agencies to support continuity of learning and reintegration.
• Support Access to Education service administration, including referrals, Section 19 processes, meetings and inbox enquiries.
• Coordinate AV1 robot use, including setup, delivery, troubleshooting, training and practical support for schools, pupils and families.

• GCSE Grade C/ 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status or equivalent qualification Competence summary (Knowledge, abilities, skills, experience).
• Understanding of and commitment to the requirements of safeguarding children, young people, vulnerable adults and promoting their welfare.
• A record of successful support of pupils.
• Experience of delivering educational support or tuition to children and young people.
• Experience of working with pupils with emotional and regulation difficulties.
• An effective communicator.
• Good organisational skills.
