Full time, Permanent, Hybrid
(37 hours per week, part time hours / job share considered. )
Hybrid with regular work from our Leeds office and regular travel around Yorkshire including East Riding, Hull, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire

Key information

We are looking for a passionate and skilled social worker to join our specialist PAC-UK team.

You will play a vital role in supporting Adult Adoptees and birth family members, helping them navigate accessing their adoption records and supporting with Intermediary services reuniting families together impacted by Adoption.

We are looking for a Social Worker who has experience of working directly with those affected by adoption. You will have experience and knowledge of adoption law and practice and able to liaise with partner agencies to deliver the service in Yorkshire, North East Lincolnshire, and North Lincolnshire

  • Advice and support to deal with issues arising from their adoption.
  • Advice and information about Schedule 2 process and accessing adoption records.
  • Advice and information regarding Intermediary Services and contact registers

Requirements

  • A Recognised qualification in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
  • Evidence of post qualifying continuous professional development.
  • Professional up to date knowledge of adoption law and practice.
  • Evidence of a sound understanding of how adoption and permanency can affect everyone involved, whether they are birth relatives, adopted children and adoptive parents, or adults who were adopted as children.
  • Experience of professional work with those affected by loss, early trauma
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to relate to internal and external contacts at all levels, and to represent Family Action by telephone and in person.
  • Ability to respond sensitively to highly distressed clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong IT and administration skills.
