Key information

Playing a key role within the marketing team, the Audience Development Officer will support the design and delivery of our audience development strategy, broadening our reach and engagement.

About the role

With 40% of audiences currently made up of school groups, the Audience Development Officer will build and grow the Unicorn’s relationships with schools, educational partnerships and access groups, and will use audience data to help us make informed decisions about how we reach and develop new audiences.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A proactive, solutions-focused work ethic, and keenness to develop the role and contribute to strategic planning. 
  • An understanding of the live arts market in both commercial and non-profit settings. • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence working with data, spreadsheets and reports to draw out insight and inform decisions. 
  • Experience of delivering activity that meets audience, attendance or sales goals.
  • Strong communication skills in person, by email and by phone.
  • A passion for inclusion and access to the arts for children and young people, and enthusiasm for the Unicorn’s mission and values.
  • Ability to prioritise, manage multiple deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Confident using Word and Excel, and quick to learn new CRM systems.
  • Understanding of the schools’ sector and the primary and early secondary curriculum.
  • Knowledge of audience access requirements.
  • A clear commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity and access.
  • Experience creating digital content for email, websites or social media.
