Key information

The Careers and Employability Service at Wrexham University is seeking to appoint a Careers and Employability Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality bilingual careers services and employability activity.

The role requires the effective use of both Welsh and English to provide comprehensive bilingual administrative support, ensuring the effective delivery of University careers and employability services. 

Welsh language skills are essential for this role.

About the role

  • The postholder will provide proactive administrative support for a range of careers and employability activities, bilingually in both Welsh and English, ensuring that services, communications and resources are accessible to all stakeholders. 
  • The role involves responding to enquiries from students, graduates, employers, academic staff and external partners through a range of channels, including email and online platforms when required to in the official languages of Wales. 
  • Maintaining accurate records and stakeholder information within our service user bilingual careers portal, supporting excellence in careers education delivery. 
  • Supporting the administration of vacancy and event promotion collaborating with external and internal stakeholders on the careers portal. 
  • Supporting the updating of web and intranet content, social media, marketing and promotional activities, and contributing to effective engagement through clear and timely communication. 
  • Maintain and develop sustainable efficient office systems and processes using a range of digital platforms, including Microsoft 365, Target Connect, Power BI, Moodle, LinkedIn Learning, University finance systems and Service social media channels.

Requirements

  • To be an Independent User of the Welsh language.
  • Someone who can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, and so on.
  • Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
  • Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
  • Educated and achieved at Level 3 in English and Maths.
  • A qualification in the Welsh language as a subject, O Level, GCSE and or Learn Welsh Advanced Level Qualified.
  • Work Welsh.
