Key information

This is an exciting opportunity to join GIPSIL’s Community Health and Prevention service, as a Wellbeing within the Wellbeing Team.

This role is offered on a zero hours contact with hours offered and accepted on an as needed basis.

About the role

  • You will support vulnerable young people of Primary and high school age, through 1 to 1 and issue based groupwork programmes across South Leeds.
  • As a Wellbeing Worker you will be required to complete admin tasks, including case notes, case studies and data collection, contributing to wider reporting requirements for commissioners.
  • During the School holidays Wellbeing Workers will also support the delivery of Healthy Holidays, ensuring young people have access to positive activities and hot nutritious food.

Requirements

  • At least two years’ experience of working in a supportive role with vulnerable young people up to the age of 25, including on an outreach basis. 
  • Experience of planning and delivering individual support or group work programmes to young people around holistic wellbeing and mental health issues. 
  • Experience of safeguarding and working within Child protection frameworks, Policies and procedures. 
  • Skilled in engaging hard to reach and vulnerable young people and knowledge of the practical, physical and emotional health issues they face. 
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively across agencies, liaising with statutory and voluntary sector organisations.
