Key information

If so, we want to welcome you to the Carbon Neutral Fuels team. As part of the Executive Team you will own and develop robust financial models that inform CNF’s growth strategy; contribute to the implementation of an appropriate funding strategy underpinned by detailed modelling and planning, and streamline our day-to-day financial operations.

About the role

Working closely with our Executive Team, you will be integral to developing our long-term growth strategy and ensuring the translation of business objectives into financial strategy. You will own the financial models used to underpin investor engagement and will be empowered to make clear decisions on our future strategy. You will be required to set up the backend of financial processes, ensuring consistency and oversight. You will be highly dependable, have the ability to handle large sums of money in a fast paced environment and will relish the opportunity to set the strategic direction of a fast growing scale up. We are looking for someone who is strategic yet hands-on, a commercially minded finance leader who has helped scale ambitious, high-growth businesses.

About Carbon Neutral Fuels

We believe in connecting the world through sustainable flight and clean seas. At Carbon Neutral Fuels, a growing organisation established in 2022, we see a future where clean travel is the norm, not the exception.

Our flagship production facility, Project Starling, was awarded UK Government Department of Transport funding to complete engineering studies, collaborate with vendors and undertake site selection. This facility will produce sustainable aviation fuel for the domestic market.

To enable growth of this project and our strong pipeline, we are growing our finance team. We are building an inclusive, engaging team of makers that enjoy solving complex problems, who are aligned in our vision of creating a better future for tomorrow.

Recruitment timeline

We would like to have someone in the position as soon as possible, however, we are happy to consider a delayed start date for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • You must have a relevant accountancy qualification (such as ACCA/ CIMA / ACA)
  • Previously held a senior finance leadership role, ideally in both a corporate and a scale up environment 
  • Demonstrable ability in financial modelling and valuation, forecasting and strategic financial planning
  • Managing multi-million pound budgets in a fast paced environment and capable of identifying opportunities for investment and financial optimisation
  • Have excellent decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy 

Desirables

  • Experience interpreting and creating forward pricing curves for commodities Recent experience raising debt and equity for project finance and the associated risk management, and reporting
  • MBA or equivalent

  • Be confident in working with a small team of skilled individuals to deliver on project outcomes
  • Comfortable working within a scale-up environment
  • A customer-centric commercial mindset with the ability to confidently communicate with multiple stakeholders, including investors and the supply chain
