Key information

Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to 31st March 2027 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment (TUPE) arrangement. This contract is due to expire on 31st March 2027.

About the role

  • To work with children, young people and their families, on a one to one or group basis, using a variety of interventions, to identify needs and to achieve positive outcomes.
  • To work in partnership with parents and or carers to empower them and to enable them to achieve better outcomes for their children.
  • To work cooperatively with children’s services, health agencies and other community based services, to provide the most effective service for children young people and families.
  • To take responsibility for the more complex cases and or situations presenting within the service.
  • To contribute to Service development.
  • To apply safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience of direct work with children, young people and families.
  • Experience of applying safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Awareness of factors impacting on and issues facing vulnerable children and young people and families such as: disadvantage, poverty and disability.
  • Knowledge of child and or young people development.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to service aims.
  • The role requires travel between Birmingham and Warwickshire as well as within Warwickshire area. Therefore, easy access to the West Midlands area is essential to the role.
  • A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is a requirement, which where eligible, will also include a check against the Children’s Barred List and or Adults’ Barred List for the required workforce.
